Juan Ramón Rojas began his fine art education under Méndez Terrero. In 1971 he moved to Spain where he began his printmaking studies with the Uruguayan master Antonio Andivero, forming the Printmakers Group of Madrid (Grupo de Grabadores de Madrid).
In 1973 his works were selected to be exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art of Ecuador. Returning to his own country, he participated in various National Exhibitions of printmaking techniques, representing the province of Buenos Aires.
In 1974 he held his first individual exhibition at the Atica Gallery in Olivos, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since then he has exhibited in museums and cultural centers throughout the country individually and collectively.

For eight years he was a cultural advisor to the Buenos Aires Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, until the end of 2017. Since then he has worked with Jo Watson and other young local artists on the interactive art initiative ‘Ciudad Automática®’
Recipient of numerous awards and merits, his works have been acquired by important Argentinian companies, as well as in private collections in France, England, Spain and Angola.
