Geppe studied photography at the age of 15 and has practised it ever since, particularly artistic photography, alongside his other great passion, cinema.
He also trained as a director, screenwriter, producer and actor.
In 1997, he won first prize in the ‘La otra cara de Cerdaña’ photography competition, which had an ecological theme.
In 2008, together with Julia Clay, they launched the ‘¿ABANDONADO?’ project, which was a dual project: photographic and cinematographic.
It took them on a 13-month journey through 24 countries in a camper van, during which they each took 20,000 photographs (each in their own style), and produced a documentary co-produced by TVE.
The documentary highlights not only the hidden beauty of abandoned places, but also the need to repurpose them and the various ways of doing so. It premiered in cinemas and has been broadcast around eight times on La 2.
On the photographic side, they organised a series of exhibitions featuring photographs of abandoned places at private venues and institutions, which were very well received.

As a photographer, Geppe has always enjoyed bringing out the hidden beauty of these places and their evocative power through decontextualisation. He focuses on extracting elements – be they textures, objects that become still lifes, or simply interesting or poetic compositions.
He also works on other photographic themes, but the pieces currently on display at Space A all stem from this project.
